Started Ozempic for diabetes, not weight. Endo prescribed it after I failed metformin alone. Got it for $25/month with my insurance. Lost 33 lbs as a side effect. A1C 8.7 → 5.6. I am off blood pressure meds for the first time in nine years. My fatty-liver elastography went from F2 to F0. For people considering this for diabetes specifically: it works because you eat less and your liver makes less glucose. Both effects matter. If you are looking at this purely cosmetically and you are not diabetic, this is the same drug as Wegovy at a slightly lower dose ceiling — probably worth getting the proper indication.
